Common Veterinary Emergencies
- Trauma such as being hit by a car
- Falling more than a few feet
- Lacerations/wounds
- Difficulty breathing
- Bleeding
- Object stuck in throat
- Seizures
- Difficulty urinating
- Heatstroke
- Disorientation
- Unconscious/loss of consciousness
- Vomiting or diarrhea for more than 24 hours
- Appearance of broken bone
- Ingestion of toxic substance such as antifreeze, rat poison, pesticides, household cleansers or medication that wasn’t prescribed for the pet
- Signs of extreme pain, such as shaking, whining or refusing to socialize
- Sudden collapse or inability to stand up
- Injury to eyes and/or sudden blindness
